Indeed, the two carts taking the sprinters to the call room collided. An athlete was ejected from the first car while Jamaican Andrew Hudson complained of an eye after the crash, TV footage shows.
These athletes were scheduled for the first of three 200m semi-finals. The three-race schedule began with the second half, with no explanation from World Athletics.
The sprinters must refocus since the semi-finals are scheduled for 8:30 p.m., half an hour after the incident.
