The two 4×400 m relays of the French team qualified for the finals of the World Championships in Athletics on Saturday in Budapest, the Blue being drafted by the judges after having first been eliminated.
The men (Ludvy Vaillant, Loïc Prévot, David Sombé and Téo Andant) took second place in their series in 3 min 00 sec 05, directly qualifying for the final.
The United States managed the best men’s time of the series (2:58.47) ahead of India (2:59.05).
Team USA, on the other hand, experienced enormous disappointment when it was disqualified from the women’s 4x400m relay for passing the baton outside the zone after a mess.
Les Bleues (Amandine Brossier, Louise Maraval, Sounkamba Sylla and Camille Seri) took 5th place in their series in 3 min 27 sec 50 and were first eliminated, before being fished out by the judges due to an obstruction .
Jamaica will enter the women’s final on Sunday with the best time of the heats (3:22.74).
