Ethiopian Gudaf Tsegay was crowned world champion in the 10,000m on Saturday in Budapest after an epic final where Dutch Sifan Hassan fell a few meters from the finish as she fought for the title.

In 31 min 27 sec 18, Tsegay thus won his second international title, after the 5,000m at the Worlds in Eugene (Oregon) in 2022, and led an Ethiopian hat-trick ahead of world record holder and title holder Letesenbet Gidey and Ejgayehu Taye.
