The Polish Iga Swiatek retains the lead in the WTA ranking published on Monday, in which the Czech Marketa Vondrousova, crowned Saturday at Wimbledon, made her first entry into the Top 10. Aged 24, Vondrousova, who won her second title on the circuit, gained 32 places to become 10th in the world.

Tunisian Ons Jabeur, who lost for the third time in her career in the final of a Grand Slam tournament after Wimbledon and the US Open in 2022, remains in 6th place. She nevertheless gets very close to the French Caroline Garcia, 5th, who is only ahead of her by 19 points.

The gap between Swiatek and her runner-up, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, was almost halved at the end of the London tournament, which saw the Pole fail in the quarters while her rival was eliminated in the semi-finals by Jabeur. Fallout of Swiatek, the Ukrainian Elina Svtolina, who had benefited from a wild card from the organizers, goes back to 27th place in the world, up 49 positions.

The Czech Petra Kvitova took 8th place at the expense of the Greek Maria Sakkari. The Russian Daria Kasatkina, 11th, and the Czech Barbora Krejcikova, 12th, both fell one place.
