In Aix-en-Provence

He took his time. And, perhaps that was the goal, to escape the journalists and supporters who awaited his arrival for much of the day in front of the Renaissance hotel in Aix-en-Provence. They attended all afternoon and early evening the returns of the Blues, of Gaël Fickou, the first to return home at the end of the two days off granted by the staff, to the pillars of La Rochelle, Uini Atonio and Reda Wardi, the last ones… if we except Antoine Dupont.

His return to his teammates, ten days after his broken jaw, was announced for Saturday. It took place… on Sunday since the captain of the Blues arrived at the hotel shortly before 1 a.m. At the end of a four-hour car journey, as revealed by Midi Olympique.

Antoine Dupont was authorized on Friday by the surgeon who operated on his maxillo-zygomatic fracture, Professor Lauwers, to “resume guided progressive physical activity”. There is no question, at first, of finding the ground again. Cycling and a little weight training are only on the program for the moment.

The Blues will return to training this Sunday. First, in the morning, with a clearing session (repetition of combinations while walking), then, at 5:15 p.m., with training at the Georges Carcassonne stadium in Aix-en-Provence. The presence, or not, of Antoine Dupont on the sidelines to watch his teammates will be scrutinized.
