The network announced Wednesday that he has been evacuated safely from Ukraine.
Fox anchor Bill Hemmer stated Wednesday morning that Ben was alert and in good spirits. He is receiving the best care possible.”
According to Fox News, Pierre Zakrzewski, a cameraman, and Oleksandra Kuvshynova, a local producer, were killed in an “incoming fire” accident that occurred while they were working with Hall. Fox News reported that the attack took place while the team was covering news outside of the capital.
Hemmer said that Hall, who was born in London, holds both U.S.- and U.K passports. He also mentioned that Hall has three daughters back home and is married for almost seven years.
Hemmer stated that there have been “a few heavy days around here”, so that was a dose of good information for Ben.
Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott stated Tuesday that Zakrzewski was based in London and had “covered almost every international story Fox News has covered from Iraq to Afghanistan, Syria, and so on” adding that “his passion for journalism and talent were unmatched.”
Scott stated, “He was deeply committed to telling the tale and his bravery and professionalism were renowned by journalists at all media outlets.”
Scott stated that Kuvshynova, 24, was “incredibly gifted” and had spent weeks helping network crews navigate Kyiv. She also collected information and communicated with sources. “Operating around the clock to ensure the world knew what was going on in her country,” Scott said.
Hemmer gave an update on Hall Wednesday and said: “We remind, please continue to keep Pierre in your prayers as Sasha, Pierre.”
The attack on Fox News came just days after Brent Renaud, another American journalist, was killed in Ukraine.
