Against the Swiss General Consulate in New York on Wednesday morning a bomb threat. An employee of the Consulate, confirmed to the news Agency Keystone SDA, that in an anonymous call of a bomb threat was made. The content of the call and the possible reason for the threat, the Consulate gave no information.
According to the Swiss Federal Chen Department of foreign Affairs EDA the safety was activated dispositif immediately. The building management decided, in consultation with the New York police Department, a preliminary evacuation of the house.
New York police are investigating the incident
After checking the premises have been released in the meantime. The staff of the Consulate and the Swiss Mission to the United Nations, which is in the same high-rise on Third Avenue in Manhattan, have returned to their jobs. The operation was resumed, to harm nobody came.
The DFA and the Consulate General to make no further information on the incident. The New York police Department has launched an investigation.
