in the 1920s the answer was clear: this is a type of ship, which at that time cruise in Finnish waters a couple of hundred. Most of them moved on the lake Saimaa. Tar vapour, i.e. höyrylotja was a frame of inland waterway vessels, the surface of which was protected by tar. The same shape of the iron structures of the ships was called kuramylly.
