Two days ago, on the 15th of January, the us State department has confirmed a risk of level 2 for Italy, which in the scale of security mean that travelers u.s. must exercise “greater caution” in our Country, also because there might be terrorist attacks.
“terrorist groups continue to plan attacks in Italy. The terrorists can attack with little or no warning, hitting the tourist places, transport centres, markets and shopping centers, facilities of the local government, hotels, clubs, restaurants, places of worship, parks, major sporting and cultural events, educational institutions, airports, and other public areas,” writes the Department, stating, however, that this is a periodic review of the notice and that there are no changes with respect to the level of risk in which was inserted the Italy so far.
The level 2 is an intermediate state, which requires much more attention than level 1 – “normal caution” – but less compared to the degree of risk is highest, according to the Usa Department: 3 means that travellers are advised to reconsider the trip, while with level 4, the american government asked its citizens not to travel in the Country indicated. Currently, the level 2 is assigned among the other european Countries, also in France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom.
