Local assembly of Izquierda Unida, Huetor Vega, has requested a rectification in the organization of Youth Festival by Hueteno consistory. They have set up a 20 euro ticket for entry to the celebration where every year they meet the’misses’ and’miste.
They have maintained that the event must be inclusive and accessible to all, regardless of economic status, since its inception. They reached out to the Youth Area team of the government and its delegated counselor to find a positive solution and reformulate the organization.
Chus Fernandez (coordinator of IU Huetor Vega) clarified that he respecteds the municipal team’s decisions, but that he believes “this is not how to hold public events.” He also trusts that they will “repair and agree on a better social, equitable, and fair way” so that all Huetor Vegas citizens can attend the party.
Vladimir Garcia, left-leaning councilor, made the choice place, a local eatery, look ugly for the municipal government. He recalled that the residents of the town “have paid with sweat for these events to happen.” These parties could be held at the fair instead of being privatized and creating deceit.
