The Bicycle Day was attended by more than 150 people. It was organized by San Antonio de La Zubia’s neighborhood association with the support of the City Council’s Sports area. This event has become a tradition and set a new record for participation.
All ages of cyclists took a ride through the municipality, beginning and ending in San Antonio. This activity coincided with the festival of crosses and May bridge. It was intended to be a family walk, enjoy the great weather, and practice sports in a healthy manner.
Puri Lopez, the mayor of La Zubia and Miriam Espinola the Councilor for Sports were responsible for presenting the awards. The awards were presented by Puri Lopez, the mayor of La Zubia, and Miriam Espinola, the Councilor for Sports. It was a smooth day that saw many people participating.
The activity was concluded by the participating businesses holding a raffle to win equipment for cyclists (helmets or water bottles), among the many bibs. The Sports area also raffled off bonuses for the municipal swimming pools.
The mayor praised “the amazing atmosphere” created by the May long weekend in La Zubia. “With a full house at all municipal activities organized and supported by the La Zubia Hospitality Association, it was a great experience.”
