According to , preliminary information from Miami Beach Police Department indicates that an elderly woman attempted to parallel park her car but instead she accelerated it onto the patio area of a restaurant.
Police said that the woman was struck by “several tables” during the accident, which took place at 6 p.m. It is not known what happened to those who were taken to the hospital.
Officials stated that as accident investigators continue to collect information, some streets are now closed. Residents were advised by police to avoid the area between South Pointe Drive, and 1 Street on Washington Avenue.
