The most important court case in decades in modern football is moving in these days a secret place in Lausanne, Switzerland. It is Manchester City, which is in conflict with UEFA, and the case is being fought at The International court of arbitration for sport, CAS.
the Case must be judged by three judges, but who they are, yes it is also a secret. How to have both Manchester City and UEFA wanted it, which the court is complied with.
It is also incredibly much on the game. Manchester City have been excluded for two years from participation in the Champions League. The toughest penalty UEFA have ever harvested. In addition, the club is fined 225 million dollars.
Manchester City has once previously tried to get the ruling overturned. No luck. The ruling was appealed, and now is the last opportunity in the sport’s own legal system. Lose City also this time, it’s not just goodbye to the Champions League in two years, but probably also to a number of the club’s stars.
Players such as Raheem Sterling and Kevin de Bruyne will find it is hardly exciting to do without the Champions League for several years.
Manchester-the club has been judged to have breached UEFA’s rules on Financial Fair Play, and to have worked against UEFA’s investigation in the case, which has been going on for several years.
The English club, which is owned by the sheiks in Abu Dhabi in The United Arab Emirates, will not acknowledge that it has broken the UEFA rules on Financial Fair Play.
When you read the many statements which the sheiks have come through the years, it is clear that they do not care about the Fair Play rules to ensure that clubs have a fairly reasonable balance between revenue and expenditure.

It must not be such that a rich owner uninhibited can shoot many billions into its club in order to be able to buy the best players on the market.
Manchester City has been sentenced in order to pretend that the money from the owners in Abu Dhabi was the revenue from the club’s sponsors. Which, incidentally, also in several cases are from Abu Dhabi. It is noteworthy that the club’s sponsor income according to the consulting firm Deloitte has increased from 165 million dollars in 2008 to two billion dollars in the last season.
It is not the first time, Manchester City is on edge with UEFA’s rules. In 2014 the club was convicted of violating the economic rules of the game. The club had in 2012 and 2013, a deficit of 1.3 billion, where the limit was set to a deficit of 330 million dollars.
City lax at that time with a fine of 430 million dollars. In addition, should the club reduce the Champions League squad from 25 to 21 players. But they were allowed to play in the Champions League.
In the current case have Manchester City, however, not met with the same understanding with UEFA’s management.
The English team has not missed any opportunity to speak about a political plot. City’s ceo, Ferran Soriano, has in an interview with the club’s own television station said that fans can be sure of two things:
– first, that the charges are false and, secondly, that we will do everything to prove it. The club’s owners have not transferred money that has not been declared correctly. But right from the beginning we have been considered as culprits, said Soriano.
He believes there has been a hekseproces, where UEFA has initiated the study, has investigated the and ago precipitated the judgment. But it is now a truth with modifications.
It is an independent investigation team, which has been running the case against Manchester City. The former belgian prime minister, Yves Leterme, has led the investigation. With him he has had a team of experts from Spain, Switzerland, USA, Slovenia and England.
Losing the UEFA case, it will be a major blow in its efforts to regulate the market. Get the City’s favour, will that really opened up for that tremendously rich sheikhs from Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi can outmaneuver anyone, when it comes to buying the clubs and the players.
the Trial in Lausanne, began Monday and ends Wednesday. Expected ruling in august. The case has no influence on the current edition of the Champions League. Here won the City 2-1 over Real Madrid in the clubs ‘ first meeting in the 1/8 finals. Managed is expected to be played in august when the Champions League must be played to completion.
