The hope comes from the schools. That is the best use of all the tools of innovation, of the possibility of dialogue between children and adults, and especially between boys of different worlds. Just turn on the imagination and open minds. It is a common feature of the over six hundred projects arrived from the Italian schools for the contest “Atlas, Italian Teacher Award” dedicated to the faculty and organized by the Republic@School and the United Network. An initiative in its second edition, this year a partnership with the world prize “the Global Teacher Prize,” the Nobel prize of prof. Four prizes were awarded in the auditorium of Santa Cecilia in Rome in front of thousands of kids that arrived for the simulation of the Un Imun. But along with them the prize is to all those 600 projects. To the teachers who have answered the call to come out of the closet and let people know how beautiful, useful and important that it is done in the schools. The goal is to feed the online platform in which all the projects are displayed and valued. And with these arriving in 2019, in addition to 740, 2018, Atlas has already become probably the biggest platform of this kind in Italy.
And, for them, is the message received by the head of State, an “appreciation for this initiative to give proper recognition to the function of the teacher – writes Sergio Mattarella, – selecting in a wide range of educational experiences and training to those who have distinguished themselves for the quality of activities and results”.

The winning projects speak of innovation, technology, music, and poetry that become instruments of dialogue and inclusion. To get to concrete results and unthinkable, making videos, and even to distribute products, with only one end goal: doing it together. It has not been an easy decision for the jury, guided by Gianni Giovannetti, (journalist), with Lorella Carimali (teacher, finalist for the Global Teacher Prize, 2018), Martina D’arco, student, spokesman of Friday for Future Rome), Michela Marzano (writer, professor of Moral Philosophy at the University Paris Descartes SHS – Sorbonne), Richard Messina (chairman of the United Network), Angela Procaccini (poet, school Manager), Florinda Saieva (managing director, General Farm Cultural Park), Roberto Sintini (the School manager).
And here they are, these four experiences, choices, summarized in brief, and told in a video in the schools by the protagonists, prof and students together.
