Akseli Gallen-Kallela oil painting auction received last night a surprising turn of events, when Sotheby’s pulled the book in the middle of everything off the auction block in New York.
sotheby’s London unit was today tight-lipped about what happened. According to it, the work was withdrawn from the seller’s wishes.
