Almost a million danes – or exactly 940.000 – has seen Anders Matthesens anime ‘Checkered Ninja’ in the cinema, which did the work for the largest Danish biografsucces ago ‘Up on daddy’s hat’ in 1985.
Since there’s been speculated for a sequel. Anders Matthesen would like to make a film more, and soon there may be a clarification. It is what he says to Ekstra Bladet.
– I have written the manuscript over the summer, and we have handed over to the institute on Monday. In a few weeks, we should check for a conversation and defend what we have made, and tell you what we intend to change that. And so it is the day that we get a, ‘well, In the running just’ or ‘back to the lab, there’s something missing’, says Anders Matthesen.
Then a ‘go’ to a Checkered Ninja movie number 2 can be a few weeks away?
– Yes, it is a few weeks away, if it becomes a go. It may also be that we get to know that we need to run a turn on it. We take this quietly. That is not something that needs to be done, if it is not good, he says.
Anders Matthesen even has sky-high ambitions.
– We have an ambition that if something comes up, so it should be able to beat etteren, and it seems we are quite clear that our manuscript has the potential to, but we can also see that there must be tightened in some places. It is a luksusproblem. I think it is a good first draft, I have made.
