“New fierce fighting around Tripoli”

“Heavy battles raged again during the night on Friday in and around the Libyan capital of Tripoli. Even once was the area around the former international airport south of the city, the scene of fierce battles.”

“Neither the hardline warlord Khalifa Haftar and his Libyan national army (LNA) or the loyalist forces have, however, managed to achieve some major advancement on the battlefield.”

“LNA began its offensive against the city on 4 april. First, could the LNA note the great success, but they then drove fast when the resistance escalated in the southern suburbs.”

“After having received reinforcements, advanced LNA on the part of the front earlier in the week, but were then again withdrawn by the internationally recognised government of national unity (GNA) troops, who blocked major roads, including the containers and the placing of tanks and artillery.”
