The international simtävlingarna Swim the Open runs from Friday 12 april to Monday 15 april.

Försökspassen starts at 09.30. Finalpasset starts at 16.30 with the B – and C-finals. A-finals is decided with start 18.00.

the Competitions are arranged at Eriksdalsbadet in Stockholm.

this year is the fourth year that Swim the Open will be arranged in Stockholm. The competition is the only major international simtävlingen which will be held in Sweden.

New for this year is that it has created a nordic tour of the three races in Helsinki, Bergen and Stockholm.

Swim Open is the third – and last – race in the tour.

In July, is determined in the sim world CHAMPIONSHIPS in Gwangju in south Korea and races in Stockholm is the world CUP qualifiers for the Swedish swimmers.

In each branch, the swimming federation special kvalificeringstider, which is generally somewhat tougher than the International swimming federation Finas times, which swimmers must complete in order to be sure of a place.

The biggest star in the races is Sarah Sjöström, who normally trains in Eriksdalsbadet.

Sarah will compete in all four days.

On Friday she is entered in both the 50 metres the team of sundbybergs ik and 200 metres freestyle. On the Saturday swims her 100 metres team of sundbybergs ik, on Sunday, the 50 metres freestyle, and on Monday, the 100 metres freestyle.

Michelle Coleman is back after the damage spolierade large parts of last year. Her best distance is the 200 metres freestyle.

Simon Sjödin looks to be heading towards another world CUP. In the Mountains he passed the world CHAMPIONSHIP qualification time in the 200 metres individual medley. The formal was not the competition as the world CUP qualifiers for the swedes, but no matter how it goes in the Swim the Open, the evidence suggests that the veteran Sjödin get a world CUP ticket.

Bröstsimmaren Erik Persson is a Swedish swimmer to cope with the world CUP-kvalgränsen.

the Talent Sara Junevik has not yet swum a senior world CHAMPIONSHIPS in long course, but now she hopes to qualify.

Hungarian Katinka Hosszu will be back to Stockholm to give Sarah Sjöström a match if prischecken that goes to the competition’s best swimmers.

Channel 9 will broadcast the A-finals each day. The broadcasts will start at 18.00. The presenter is Jonas Karlsson.
