Denmark goes to spring and warmer weather in the meeting. And this weekend, there is one person who might hope for a little more sun and weak wind than normal.
Political leader of The Radical, Morten Østergaard, is embarking on a three and a half mile long swim in order to show that ‘we are drowning in tend towards symbolic policy’.
He must swim from the much talked about island of Lindholm to the harbour in Kalvehave on south Zealand. Denmark needs a new direction, he believes.
– I think that we are drowning in tend towards symbolic policy. I think that there are many victims of that the important problems are cleared up, because the government and the DF – often supported by S – has more busy making this here tend towards symbolic policy, says Morten Østergaard.
In 2018 was the government and the Danish people’s Party agreed that criminal foreigners should be expelled, but as Denmark can’t send home, from 2021 to stay on the island of Lindholm I Stege Bay.
– It is a stunt, with the seriousness behind it that I’m willing to do something that is unfamiliar, at least for me. It must show that the policy is not just a matter of ads and pretense, he says.
