The European Parliament has the controversial Reform of the copyright right law. The particularly controversial article that takes platforms like YouTube more, found a majority.
The members of the European Parliament have given the controversial Reform of copyright law the green light. Until recently it was unclear whether a majority for a renewal of the 20-year-old copyright law would come to pass.
the aim of the Reform is, the case-law digital business models to adapt and to ensure that publishers, broadcasters and artists to be fairly remunerated.
Shortly before the vote, opponents and proponents of the project in the Parliament a fierce war of words had delivered. Julia Reda of the pirate party, a leader of the opponents of Reform, said that about five million citizens had signed a Petition against the planned upload filter now.
in Addition, more than 200,000 people had demonstrated at the weekend against these plans. However, any criticism had been ignored – the EU Commission had referred to the protesters rather than “Mob”.
