Forligskreds behind the Fehmarn Belt link has decided that the work should go in the time on the Danish side. It informs the Transport, Construction and ministry of housing.
-now is the Time to initiate the construction work of the tunnel under Fehmarn Belt. I am therefore pleased that today we have decided to start the construction work on the Danish side, says the transport, construction and housing minister Ole Birk Olesen to the ministry’s website.
the Femern A/S will now start negotiations with the two entreprenørkonsortier about to start the following construction activities on the Danish side:
Installations of tunnelelementfabrik by RødbyhavnEtablering of arbejdshavn by RødbyhavnEtablering of tunnelportal on LollandEtablering of residential and administrationsfaciliteterBestilling of special marine udstyrØvrige, less preparatory work
the Connection is also formally approved in Germany, but it will probably result in complaints to the Forbundsforvaltningsdomstolen, which will delay the construction work in Germany. Therefore, Denmark is now underway.
– it makes It namely possible to avoid delays in the schedule, so the tunnel can be open in 2028, at the same time we improve the opportunities for utilising the allocated EU funding of almost € 4.4 billion. kr. for the project, says Ole Birk Olesen.
