Grimbergen Retirement home Anemones in Strombeek-Bever is bankrupt. The approximately 20 residents – including many negentigers – by end of this week to leave. The staff keeps provisionally the whole thing up a few days running, for the residents.
The 26-year-old private sheltered housing in the Begonialaan was already on the black list of the Zorginspectie. Now it appears that accounts have been around for a while, unpaid continued and the managers are with the noorderzon disappeared. The sanctuary is declared bankrupt and a trustee appointed.
labor shortage
To the inhabitants not to their fate, the staff decided to have the next few days the home itself to operate with a minimumbezetting. Or their wages are still paid, they don’t know. The indignation is great. “Everyone has done its utmost to make the residents as comfortable as possible and the best possible care to offer”, says one of the employees. “It was a coming and going of staff in the last few years. There was constantly a shortage of staff and there was never a nurse hotline, which, however, is required. Overtime hours were not paid and they could not record due to the constant shortage of personnel.”
Together with their family search for the residents – there are 21 on – for solutions. This is also the OCMW Grimbergen, and the Agency could delay enabled.
