the Pilots of American Airlines refuse to fly to Venezuela. They are afraid to take to the uroplagede country and think no longer, that they can feel secure.

It has now meant that American Airlines has cancelled all flights to Caracas and Maracaibo.

Venezuela has over the last few years has been characterised by extreme violence, corruption and political turmoil, and even though it was previously one of the richest countries in south America, it is now plagued by poverty.

It has become so dangerous that the Danish ministry of foreign affairs already in 2017 began to advise against unnecessary travel to the country.

American Airlines was the last u.s. airline that still flew to Venezuela, while there are only a handful left in the entire world.

Not even most of south american countries advise their citizens to go there, while their airlines have boycotted Venezuela. It has been a very isolated country, where tourism also is gone completely.

The Spanish airline Air Europe is one of the few that still go there, but it is now also up for debate, after their crew members were assaulted last weekend in the capital Caracas.

According to the Spanish trade union Sepla were two pilots and eight kabinepersonaler surrounded by a group of men with guns on motorcycles. No one was however hurt.

Airlines such as Lufthansa and Air Canada as well as United and Delta Airlines opted out of Venezuela already back in 2017.
