Pope Francis has accepted the resignation of cardinal Barbarin Archbishop of Lyon. The cleric had been convicted of Non-display of the abuse cases, to six months in prison.
Pope Francis has rejected the resignation of the French cardinal Philippe Barbarin because of the cover-up of child abuse. The Vatican announced. The Archbishop of Lyon had offered to the Pope the renunciation of his Offices, after he had spoken, a court in Lyon guilty.
The allegation was sexual abuse allegations against a paedophile clergy not reported to the police and to have children is not protected. Barbarin was sentenced to six months in prison on probation.
