UEFA announced Thursday the postponement of the Kosovo-Israel meeting, in qualifying for Euro 2024, initially scheduled for this Sunday, due to the impossibility for the Israeli team to travel after the bloody attack launched by the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas. “A new date will be announced in due course,” said the European body in a press release, the Israeli authorities having prohibited their national team from “traveling abroad”.
UEFA had already postponed on Sunday, the day after the surprise offensive launched by Hamas, “all matches planned” in Israel “over the next two weeks”. In the meantime, the organization has rescheduled the Israel-Switzerland meeting, initially scheduled for this Thursday, to Wednesday, November 15 at 8:45 p.m., at a location to be determined.
The matches of the European Under-21 Championship Israel-Estonia (this Thursday) and Israel-Germany (Tuesday October 17) are also postponed, without a new date for the moment. Just like that of the European under-17 mini-tournament which was to pit Israel, Belgium, Gibraltar and Wales from October 11 to 17.
