In itself, was Sunday’s victory at the Major tournament, IEM Katowice, a milestone for the Danish E-sport-crew Astralis.
But for Peter ’dupreeh’ Rasmussen, one of the Astralis profiles, was the triumph even emotional in a way only few can put themselves into.
For he lost his father shortly before the tournament began.
And so it was a very moved ’dupreeh’, who tried to put into words, since the triumph was a fact, the cup was lifted, and he was interviewed in front of the many spectators and fans.
– It is very unreal. I came here for the tournament, and my dad died shortly before. His last wish was, that I took down here. So I would really like to win. This is to my father, he said, clearly influenced by the situation on the stage in the Polish city.

Father died of cancer shortly before the start of a tournament. Yet you chose Astralis ’dupreeh’ in the lead to set the course to Katowice, and the message from the other team mates was that you would fight for Counter-Strike-the star and his father.
This one was for you, dad

they did, and thus they could win their second Major tournament in a row, which in itself is attention-grabbing in the international E-sports.
– It is probably the biggest desire I’ve ever had (to win the tournament, red.). To make my father proud. But of course, my family and all the others. The Fans and people that come with it.
– It is just unreal that we are doing it. It is a dream, said Peter ’dupreeh’ Rasmussen.
Astralis, who beforehand was touted as a favourite to win, beat the Finnish ENCE in the finals with 2-0 in maps.
Thus, they won a first prize of around 3.3 million crowns.
