At the end of January to hammer the city council through the decision to build Stockholm’s new cemetery on the Northern Järvafältet. The politicians in the Stockholm city run thus over the residents in Husby, Kista, Akalla, Tensta and Rinkeby, which has long protested against the plans. The place is everything else than ideal.

to begin with, Järvafältet, one of northern Stockholm’s only green lung, which needs to be protected, not developed. It is bad enough that the massive highway Bypass of Stockholm is now being drawn over the field, which is one of the few places where the road is not dug down, because the ruling did not show the same consideration to the socio-economically weaker group of people who live here compared with the people in the richer districts where the highway is drawn in a tunnel.

to Järva discgolfpark, who received the award this Year Park in Sweden to 2017, is forced to close. The park is a popular destination which may frisbeegolfare from the whole of the Stockholm area take the subway out to the suburb of Tensta. The park blends well in with the rest of nature on Järvafältet, without disturbing those who use the field for other recreation.

The most insane is that the graves shall be dug along the slope of the Granholmstoppen, an artificial hill composed of blasted rock and excavated soil from when the subway was built, as well as other waste that is dumped and, over time, been covered by grass and spruce forest.

any idiot should be able to figure out that it will be extremely costly to dig graves in the stony ground instead of in the soft earth. In addition, the presence of asbestos and other toxins in the litter who are at risk to be freed and spread in the air if you begin to move up the ground.

North Järvas stadsdelsråd – a democratic grassroots movement among the residents at the field – has put forward an alternative site for begravningsbygget: an abandoned motorcrossbana on the other side of the Bypass, where the necropolis would not destroy the field in the same manner and at the same time be easily accessible for motorists.

But the politicians are not interested in dialogue with the residents at Järvafältet. The ruling Stockholmspolitikerna, who lives in the inner city, don’t care what the poor this situation think.

For them, it is about to push through its prestigious projects, while ignoring that the costs will spiral out of control when the construction well should take its beginning in the fall.
