Aleksander Ceferin was elected as Uefa President as expected. The Slovenian was confirmed at the Congress of the European football Union on Thursday in Rome by acclamation for a four year term of office. Ceferin takes the continental Association since September of 2016. At the time, he was supported by the German football Association in a vote against Dutchman Michael van Praag and took over as the successor to the suspended Michel Platini.
