Showbiz VTM NEWS last night the Çavaria Media Award. The prize is awarded annually to media companies or productions that in the past year in a unique way, contributed to the rights, well-being and the visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. VTM NEWS will receive the prize because of the support to Bo boudewijn Van Spilbeeck, that at the beginning of last year aankodigde through life as a woman.
Çavaria, the dome of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender groups (lgbt), awarded last night for its annual awards. The organization awards in three categories of persons and organisations that in 2018 a positive affect on the rights and welfare of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.
There were three nominees for the Çavaria Media Award: ‘For the men’, a tv show on Canvas, where Xavier Taveirne talk with the first generation of men that in Flanders dared to be out as gay. ‘Girl’, the langspeelfilmdebuut of Lukas Dhont, over the 15-year-old transgender Lara that career want to make it as a ballerina. And VTM NEWS, as a result of how they’ve coped with the coming-out of journalist Bo boudewijn Van Spilbeeck.
