On January 27, 2010, an explosion place in the centre of Liège. That explosion is caused by a gas leak. Everywhere are fragments and shards. Only the facades of the two townhouses are right, until that collapse. There to die that night fourteen people, twenty others are injured from beneath the rubble removed.
During the search for victims there is dissatisfaction with the parents, as king Albert comes to visit. The work is shut down and the fire brigade should stop searching. “That was a breaking point for me. I thought that was terrible,” says the father of victim Vicky Storms.
The owner of the property and a technical official to be considered responsible for the explosion. Research shows that the gas did not comply with the rules. To date, there is still no one convicted.
