This morning you could enjoy a beautiful spectacle in the sky. There was a total lunar eclipse, so the moon is blood red colored. The spectacle started around four this morning, and was seen to dawn.

During a lunar eclipse, the sun, the earth and the moon align and the moon is completely in the shadow of the earth. The phenomenon was this morning in Belgium to see – thanks to the clear weather and the moon looked blood red (hence the term ‘bloedmaan’). That results in beautiful images. The lunar eclipse was complete to 6.12 hours, but you could catch a glimpse of it until a little after sunrise. Enjoy, because it is only in 2029, you can in our country still have a total lunar eclipse.
