He was known as one of Denmark’s foremost environmentalists, and was involved in a number of Danish and international environmental matters.

on Thursday ended a long life in the environment, signs of a civil engineer and professor emeritus Finn Bro-Rasmussen, when he passed quietly away at Herlev Hospital.

It informs Finn Bro-Rasmussen’s family to the news agency Ritzau.

Bro-Rasmussen was 90 years old and was healthy until a few weeks before his death, where he got problems with his health and was hospitalized.

Bro-Rasmussen was deeply engaged in the struggle for the environment long before the environment became fashionable. He was trained as a civil engineer in 1952, and as a civil engineer and later miljøprofessor – he himself, with areas such as pesticides, clean drinking water, heavy metals, giftdepoter and acid rain.

Through the years he has with a hallmark, provocative style made itself noticed with its views and knowledge about the environment among politicians, government officials, business people and society as a whole.

Finn Bro-Rasmussen was an active environmentalist long way up in his 80’s. So he left his last duties – a task as representative for the Danish society for nature conservation – in 2016.

Finn Bro-Rasmussen leaves two children and four grandchildren.
