Kent Nikolajsen, which is known as the host of DR Sport and host on the ‘Pure word of god for money’, has died after a short illness.

It confirms his workplace Metronome in a press release.

‘It is with great sadness to have to announce that our director, close friend and dear colleague Kent Nikolajsen is dead today at 12 at his home in Ringsted, surrounded by his whole family.’

the 48-year-old Nikolajsen was hit by cancer of the esophagus in the summer.

‘We know that Kent dream still had life, it was a life he truly loved, and his work on the Metronome was a high priority. Therefore it has also been difficult for Kent to let go of life, and he has fought hard and bravely against cancer for the past many months, but unfortunately had the cancer already got a good grip in the kent’s body before it was discovered in the month of June.’

Kent Nikolajsen leaves his wife, Linda. The couple have children, Mira and the twins Jakob and Stine together.

Kent was loved by many and will be missed every day by all of us. Nikolajsen, who was the ceo of the production company Metronome was on sick leave in the summer. Here he underwent a treatment for cancer of the esophagus.

In the company’s accounts showed that he was suffering from cancer at the beginning of the summer.

Kent Nikolajsen made his debut as a nyhedsvært on TV the South and worked on a number of TV2 regions, before in 1995 he was employed at the DR as a sports journalist.

Here he was later the host of DR Sport and has since also hosted on the consumer programme ‘Pure word of god for money’ in 2001.

We know that Kent dream still had life, it was a life he truly loved, and his work on the Metronome was a high priority.

Therefore it has also been difficult for Kent to let go of life, and he has fought hard and bravely against cancer for the past many months, but unfortunately had the cancer already got a good grip in the kent’s body before it was discovered in the month of June.

We are going to miss him, miss his inspiration, support and wisdom and of course, I come to miss our very special partnership, which I had hoped would last forever.
