Brand new N-VA-councillor Yannick Aerts from Limburg Zonhoven has a somewhat difficult relationship with his pet Pico the parrot. The young politician took last summer Pico about his former boss when he his house was purchased. On the first zomerbarbecue started the beast immediately cheerful ” Oh, dear Belgium…’ to whistle.
“It was quite a scare,” Yannick Aerts. “We just had our house bought, when the previous owner asked if his parrot was not allowed to continue to sit in his aviary. The older man was going to move to an apartment – not ideal for such an animal to keep. Even before I ‘no’, and could say, my wife had already said ‘yes’,” laughs Yannick. “First made Pico just some happy sounds, but on our first barbecue he began, suddenly excited the Brabançonne to whistle.
