The Trump Show, season 2. So call the journal the Economist the stage that the united states now is on the way in, with the rest of the world as both spectators and co-conspirator;. And so began the second half of the presidency with a bang.

It was on Wednesday that Donald Trump held a regeringsmöte as with the Washington Post’s words evolved into ”a 95-minute-long beautiful stream of consciousness to the defense of his presidency and his views on the world, full of falsehood, historierevision and self-aggrandizement”.

Among the many peculiarities which ran from the president’s mouth was a small rant about the kurds: ”Turkey like them don’t, others do.” We got a summary of the situation in Syria: ”It’s all about the sand and the dead.”

And there came a declaration of love to the generals who must be reproduced in full: ”When I became president I had a meeting in the Pentagon with lots of generals. They were like out of a movie. Better looking than Tom Cruise, and stronger. And I had more generals than I have ever seen, and we were at the bottom of this amazing room. And I said, ’this is the best room I have ever seen’.”

And it was still not the most bizarre. Where can we find rather Donald Trump’s rant about the Soviet war in Afghanistan, which lasted throughout the 1980s.

”the Reason why Russia went into Afghanistan”, said the president, ”was that the terrorists came into Russia, (the russians) had the right to be there.”

the Statement is staggering. Not even those responsible for the invasion, the communist regime in the Soviet union, claimed something similar.

the 1970s Afghanistan was a corner of the cold war, the cynical playing field. A communist regime took power in 1978, and when it threatened to fall rolled out the Russian tanks. The united states stood on the opposite side and trained and funded the resistance movement, mujaheddingerillan.

That the president of the day, suddenly declare the invasion as a just war against terrorists who ”came out of Russia” is incomprehensible. On the own hand he writes about the history.

Immediately there arose a theory about what happened. Right now working regime Putin fully revise the Russian and soviet history and apply makeup over it with a more sympathetic face. As late as the end of last year, the state duma of a resolution which justified inmarschen in Afghanistan.

Those who do not openly agree with him, and he is not frightened into obedience, let him be because he still is a red line for the other side.

once again plays Donald Trump, thus, in the Russian script. ”Where do Trump its strange, and wrong, opinions on Belarus, Montenegro and, most recently, Afghanistan?”, asked the historian Anne. on Twitter. ”The only possible sources are all Russian.”

There are, of course, another possibility, namely that the president just lets her mouth go and say it sounds good in the moment, true or not. It is only marginally less scary.

Trump’s behavior has several unpleasant aspects. One is that the world has become accustomed to, there has been a gradual descent into idiocy. Who have the energy to bother to finish? Who have the energy to protest?

another is that many don’t even want to respond. In our polarized world, it is often the most important which team someone belongs to, not what he says or does. Donald Trump may be a tölpaktig fåne, thinking people, but he is our tölpaktiga fåne. As long as he puts The Other on the spot – left, the Democrats, the feminists, pk-elites, ”the swamp” in Washington – he may hatch out out which ensure.

So retain the president’s grip on the Republicans. Those who do not openly agree with him, and he is not frightened into obedience, let him be because he still is a red line for the other side.

And so living his strange and false views on, spread and propagated. Always receive the mount of one of the many who would rather listen to the lying authorities than on people who certainly know what they’re talking about but who have their habitual residence in the motståndarlägret.
