The former director of Nissan’s Greg Kelly is after a month of captivity, released on bail. The former ceo had 70 million yen (557.000 euros) to pay. The court in Tokyo had earlier on Tuesday decided that Kelly, after payment of the amount should go.
Kelly was stuck since november 19, on suspicion of helping the former president of Nissan, Carlos Ghosn, with false statements in financial reports of the company. Kelly himself denies that.

The alleged tax fraud by Ghosn and Kelly came according to Nissan to light after an internal investigation that was opened following allegations by a whistleblower. If Ghosn is found guilty he can be imprisoned to get up to ten years, plus a fine. Also Nissan is threatening a fine.
