It is clear, after the first witnesses have given evidence in the case against the Norwegian-born 60-year-old woman Monday morning has been commenced in the Court in Lyngby. Here she is accused of 22 cases of fraud and two cases of theft.

A male holder of a second Bed & Breakfast, and two women, who is the manager of each of its retreat, have also been heard in court before the lunch break. They did not suspect, when they met the Marie Madeleine Steen, who presented himself under different fake names.

The Norwegian woman is accused of to stay all three places without paying the bill. After she is raised from one refugium, received the manager a message from the woman’s son that his mother was very sick and might not be contacted. To the other two locations came the message that she had died.

– I am thinking then, ‘it may now be true’, but the benefit of the doubt to get the accused to good, said the manager of the retreat, which according to the prosecution have been cheated out of payment for a total of 11 nights ‘ accommodation.

The Norwegian-born Marie Madeleine Steen is convicted numerous times of fraud in Norway and Sweden since 1992. The case, now she is indicted, holds 22 cases of fraud as well as two thefts committed in denmark in the period 2014 to 2018.

She has been in custody since 30. July and is known as ’the Woman with the heavy suitcase’ after the release of a popular podcast of the same name.
