A fire Saturday morning in the Chester Zoo in the north west of England is under control, but large clouds still hangs over the garden. Visitors were evacuated and the animals were removed from their cages.

On Twitter informs Chester Zoo on the fire:
‘We can confirm that firefighters are currently working against the fire in our monsunskov. Visitors were evacuated. The staff worked with the fire department to get the situation under control’, says.
Chester Zoo is closed the rest of the day, they write.

Monsunskoven in the Chester Zoo is the largest in the Uk. In ’the forest’ tropical climate is live there both orangutans, crocodiles, turtles, insects and gibbonaber.
the Staff quickly moved the animals from the fire and the outside of the area, while visitors were evacuated. A person is treated for røgforgiftning.
It is yet unknown how many animals have come to harm. The newspaper writes that five animals died last year in a different zoo, which took the firemen 72 hours to deal with.
