Jens Bjørn-Hansen, who sang and played banjo and mandolin in the north folkemusikgruppe The Golden Lions, has died.
He was 74 years old.
It writes the North and brings tribute from journalist Jørgen Pyndt on behalf of the Lions club.
Jens Bjørn-Hansen, who eventually lived in nursing homes in Nørresundby, was to start The Golden Lions way back in 1967, where they as a trio, and under the name of the Golden Lion Folk Group playing irish folk music at the inn of The Golden Lion.

It was the inspiration for the name of The Golden Lions, as the group began to call themselves at the behest of Gustav Winckler, who thought that d’gentlemen had to sing the irish songs in Danish and consequently have a Danish name.
The Golden Lions became famous with songs such as ‘I’m not like the others’ and ‘Hjemmebrænderiet’, and in 2007, the group received the Folkemusikprisen at Skagen Festival for 40 years of faithful service in the music’s character.
In 2011, however, it was over. Last appearance was also at home in Skagen.
In his obituary in the northern Jutland describes Jørgen Pyndt deceased, the possession of ’the’ popular culture’, coming to know life and know that where there is sun, there is also shadow. He was an extremely open person, but gnidret småborgerlighed and højresnak there was no place for’.
