A major outbreak of salmonella may be due to the sausages.
DTU Dtu, the Danish veterinary and food administration and Statens Serum Institute has found a correlation between salmonella-sick and the consumption of sausages.
The type DTU Dtu in a press release
At least 33 people have been sick with the same type of salmonella since the middle of October.
’the Study identifies sausages as a source of infection for the outbreak’, writes epidemiologist at the Statens Serum Institut Luise Müller in a press release.
the Fda may, however, not with a hundred percent security guarantee that it is pork, mettwurst, which is the cause of salmonellaudbruddet, as not all patients who have eaten it.
‘We are currently not able to pinpoint one specific batch of one food from one company, as the source of the outbreak. Therefore, continues the Danish veterinary and food administration and Statens Serum Institut to collect data on which foods patients are specifically procured and may have eaten’, writes beredskabschef Nikolas Hove from the Fda in a press release.
Therefore, it can also be other kinds of pork, which is the source of infection.
How to avoid becoming infected.
There are a few, but good advice that you should follow if you want to avoid being infected with salmonella:
1) Remember to wash your hands after you have touched raw meat. This way, you avoid spreading bacteria to the finished food e.g. roast meat, salad, and bread.
2) It is important to keep the raw meat separated from the meat, which is fried. This way, you avoid spreading bacteria from the raw meat to the fried meat.
3) Minced meat, poultry, and mechanical mørnet meat should be gennemvarmt. In these types of meat can bacteria also sit inside in the product.
4) Change or wash the cutting board and knife immediately after it has been used for raw meat. So, you avoid spreading bacteria from the raw meat via the cutting board to the food that is finished and ready to eat e.g. salad or bread.
5) Throw the used packaging from raw meat straight in the bin. It is important that the finished food does not come in contact with juices from raw meat, especially juices from the poultry. Throw out the packaging, and do not put it færdigstegte meat back in the packaging
6) If you are grilling in the garden, so follow grillrådene: Two dishes and Two grilltænger – and then wash hands. You should be especially careful when you prepare poultry, and grilling outdoors in the summer. It goes often wrong with the hygiene at the garden grill.
