New women’s basketball sensation Caitlin Clark had a difficult start in the American professional basketball league, the WNBA, suffering a defeat with her Indiana Fever team and making a disappointing statistical performance.

With 20 points, Clark certainly finished as the best scorer of the match, tied with Connecticut player DeWanna Bonner, but she was far from her shooting standards (5 out of 15, including 4 out of 11 at three points) and she accumulated 10 bullets lost.

As a bonus, his team lost heavily 92-71 in the Connecticut Sun room. “There’s a lot to take away from this, it’s only my first match,” commented Caitlin Clark after the match. “There will be good ones, there will be bad ones.”

“I would have liked to play a little better tonight,” she admitted. “I lost too many balls, obviously, that’s not the way to do it (…). It took me a little while to get into the match. I think my second half, apart from a few loose balls, was much better.

A prolific shooter, often compared to Warriors point guard Stephen Curry, Clark, 22, has become a popular phenomenon thanks to her long-range shooting and her prowess in the NCAA college championship, where she now holds the record for points scored, women’s and men combined.
