Stade Rennais has announced the death of Bertrand Marchand, former player and coach of the club. The Breton, since exiled in Africa, died this Saturday at the age of 70.
Arriving at Stade Rennais to finish his training, this former defensive midfielder stayed at the club for a total of eight years, before returning as assistant coach (1997-2002). Bertrand Marchand then took the reins of Guingamp before multiplying the experiences in Africa, and in particular in Tunisia. His last experience was at Club Africain in 2022.
