The international pillar of Lyon, Demba Bamba, was hit in the ankle, this Saturday, during the defeat against Stade Rochelais (35-14), in Angers, during the second day of the Top 14. The future player of Racing 92 had to give way to Santiago Medrano in the second half. “He has an ankle that has turned a little, we didn’t want to take any risks,” explained Lyon manager Fabien Gengenbacher to L’Équipe. Demba Bamba is one of 12 reservists and could join the group of 33 players for the World Cup (September 8-October 28), if one of the three right pillars retained (Dorian Aldegheri, Uini Atonio, Sipili Falatea) were to be injured.
