The 32-year-old tricolor won the title of Advanced Aerobatics World Champion in a glider. This sporting discipline brings together several pilots who perform acrobatic maneuvers in the air aboard a glider (without engine).

With this success, Thibaut Fromantin puts an end to several years of struggle to reach the top of the podium. In 2021, he won the bronze medal while his teammate Charlie Levy Louapre was on the top step of the podium. Last year he finished Vice-World Champion, narrowly losing to the Czech Oliver Adamy. This year, he wins with manner since they are only 2 out of the 13 previous champions, to have won the title by passing the 77% mark (77.2% this year). Despite fierce competition, against 33 other experienced pilots, this father of three brilliantly won the world title. From the first round, the competition proved that it would not be easy, the veteran finishing 4th. However, on the next two flights, Thibaut Fromantin maintained his intensity and finished in 2nd position each time, giving him a significant lead for the overall victory. His exceptional performance was illustrated by remarkable consistency throughout the competition. The victory is all the more admirable since barely 1 month ago, due to an unforeseen mechanical problem, the French team had to change gliders at a moment’s notice. It is thanks to the generosity of the Hungarian team that they were able to borrow an aircraft and take part in the competition.
