The Toyota N.7 of the Kamui Kobayashi/Mike Conway/José Maria Lopez trio won the 6 Hours of Monza on Sunday, the 5th round of the world automobile endurance championship (WEC) marked by numerous accidents.

Ferrari, which won the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans in June for its return after a 50-year absence, took second place on home soil with the N.50 car (Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina, Nicklas Nielsen) which counted only 16 seconds behind after 200 laps.

The Peugeot N.93 (Jean-Eric Vergne / Mikkel Jensen / Paul di Resta) took third place 1 min 18 sec from the winners, allowing the lion brand to sign its first podium since its return to HyperCar.

This is the third victory of the season for the Toyota N.7 after the 1000 Miles of Sebring and the 6 Hours of Spa. The Japanese brand is hegemonic in the WEC with five titles in the last five years.

The next race will take place on September 10 in Japan, with the 6 Hours of Fuji.
