The coach of “Roja” Luis de la Fuente hailed the first selection of naturalized Frenchman Robin Le Normand, who represents “the future of Spanish football”, after the semi-final of the League of Nations won against Italy (2- 1), this Thursday in Enschede (Netherlands).

The central defender has an “above average football maturity”, “he started with a semi-final against Italy and showed his character, he is never nervous in borderline situations”, added the ‘coach.

The penalty caused by Le Normand (11) “was an accident, he was unlucky”, pleaded de la Fuente. “The Norman, we see him play every week, we know his qualities, he was very calm, he showed that he was a great player. He is one more footballer for the cause and the future of Spanish football,” added the technician.

“We are happy for him but it does not surprise us, he is good, and he can do more,” said de la Fuente, including his hinge partner Aymeric Laporte, also of French origin, who played him his 21st selection. “They are two very good footballers, with room for improvement, they can become great footballers,” concluded the coach.
