France’s Amandine Buchard won the -52 kg bronze medal on Monday at the World Judo Championships in Doha.
She thus won her fourth world medal, her fourth in bronze, after those of 2014, 2018 and 2022.
Buchard, also Olympic vice-champion in the category in Tokyo, fell in the quarter-finals against the Japanese Uta Abe, who had beaten her in the final of the Games, before recovering against the South Korean Jang Seyun in repechage. In her fight for bronze, she dominated the Hungarian Reka Pupp, 3rd in the world.
