Thousands of energy checks will arrive from Tuesday in the mailboxes of the French. From a minimum amount of 48 euros, they can go up to 277 euros. Their objective is to help consumers with the lowest incomes to pay their gas, electricity, wood or fuel bills. To be eligible, a single person must thus prove a reference tax income of less than 10,800 euros in 2023.

From this May 9 and until May 12, the following departments will receive their third check: Isère, Eure-et-Loir, Corsica, Réunion, Guadeloupe and Gironde. As for Guyana, Bas-Rhin and Deux-Sèvres, they will receive their second. Cher, Indre, Loir-et-Cher, Loiret, Paris, Essonne, Hauts-de-Seine, Val d’Oise, Seine-Saint-Denis, Calvados, Eure, Manche and Orne will receive their first cheque.

For the other departments, don’t worry, the sending of checks is spread out until May 30. Note that they will be valid until March 31, 2024. To receive them, no action is required. All you have to do is declare your income for the previous year and be subject to housing tax. In all, 5.8 million French people are thus eligible.
