The myth of the lazy French

Although the 35-hour week applies in France, the reality of the working world shows other findings. The French work more than the Germans and even more efficiently. In a comparison of all OECD countries, France is in the rear with 1520 hours worked per employee per year – well behind Eastern and Southern European countries. But Germany is last in this list with an average of 1349 hours worked per year.
