Explosions suddenly sounded in Crimea on Tuesday night, and videos circulating on social media showed fireballs and columns of smoke. All information indicates that Ukraine has carried out a drone strike on the Russian-held peninsular town of Jankoy, a key logistics hub for the Russian army. According to Ukrainian sources, several Russian Kalibr-NK cruise missiles that were being transported on a train were destroyed.
The chief of the occupation administration on site confirmed the attacks. Sergei Askyonov, the Russian governor on the peninsula, said Russian anti-aircraft defenses had been successful. The occupiers rejected Ukrainian reports: the railway junction and other infrastructure objects were not damaged, and one person was injured.
